I am the recent recipient of a Student Mini Grant courtesy of the Andrew W. Mellon Arts and the Common Good Grant at Drew University! Woo hoo! With this grant, I am funding Combat Paper NJ‘s programs which teach papermaking and printmaking to veterans. Please go to their website to learn more about this fabulous organization!
David Keefe, the Director of Combat Paper NJ (he is also an amazing artist and U.S. Marine veteran), will be giving a talk about the organization on Thursday, November 20th (see poster below for more info). This presentation is paired up with a Writers@Drew reading by author and U.S. Marine veteran Phil Klay from Redeployment, his collection of short stories. It’s going to be a great evening with two very talented veterans.
I’d like to think that my Bubbie and Grandpa (both deceased WW2 vets) would be proud to hear this news. Miss you both!
