A Womb With a View

I’m proud to announce the inclusion of my piece “Phoenix” in “A Womb With a View” group show at Inner Space in Jersey City, which was curated by activitist and artist The Vagilante.  The opening reception is on May 6th from 5-8pm at 175 Duncan Ave, Unit 2, Jersey City, NJ.

Boonton Arts Dogs Days of Summer

My proposal for the Dog Days of Summer (and some cool cats too) was accepted too!  I applied for a pup, but I’m happily designing a cat instead.  “Stitching Pretty” will be covered in hand dyed indigo kanoko shibori with multicolored embroidered details.  The grand unveiling of all the dogs and cats will be in June.  There are still plenty of dogs and cats up for sponsorship and/or purchase, including my design.  Check out the Boonton Arts Etsy page for all the available pups and kitties!

Youth & Teen Drawing Classes

I’m teaching a series of three youth and teen (ages 8-17) drawing classes at Artworks Trenton in May.  The classes are $5 each for materials for an hour of instruction, and you can register online here.  We will be concentrating on traditional drawing techniques in graphite and charcoal.  Sign up soon before the class fills up!

Indigo Shibori Workshops

On Saturday, May 6th at 10am-5pm, I’ll have my an indigo and shibori booth set up at the Thompson Park Arts & Music Festival in Lincroft, NJ.  I’ll have original artwork for sale, as well as live shibori/indigo dye demo.  And for a small fee, you can dye on site!  Here’s a link for more information about the event.

At this moment, I have 3 adult indigo shibori workshops set and ready for the Fall!  I’m planning on scheduling more too, so keep your eyes peeled on my Workshops page.   If you’ve never had the chance to do any hand dyeing, shibori is an absolute blast – join me!
